On Thursday, June 25, 2020, Lordstown Motors unveiled The Endurance Pickup truck at the Lordstown assembly plant to a crowd of around 300 people.  It is the first fully electric pickup truck projected to hit the market in early 2021.

The event featured speeches by the Secretary of Energy, Dan Brouilette, and Vice President Mike Pence. Vice President Mike Pence began his speech by stating, “It really is an honor to be here. To be able to drive up and unveil what will soon be the first fully electric pickup truck on the market in the United States of America. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Lordstown Endurance.”

When Lordstown Motors CEO Steve Burns spoke at the event, he alluded to the importance of this kind of innovation for the Midwest and the Mahoning Valley. According to WKBN, Burns stated, “I think people expect this kind innovation to come from the coast. There’s nothing wrong with California, but the Midwest is where cars are made. The Midwest happens to be where the most pickup trucks are sold, and so we thought, why should California have all the fun?” The plant will need to hire a few hundred workers to keep the production timeline up to speed.

Live coverage by the media was available on YouTube, and WKBN 27’s website.

Our marketing department was honored to be able to attend the live event and watch the unveiling first-hand. In an interview with WKBN, SERVPRO Trumbull County owner, Jimmy Dobson stated, “To look at this truck, how it’s put together and the look of it is amazing, how it will perform for us and the efficiencies we’ll get out of it, we’re absolutely excited about it.” Vice President Mike Pence was in the passenger seat, as it was driven on stage.

SERVPRO intends to support the local company and purchase the Endurance truck when it is available in early 2021. We can not wait to see what is next for the Mahoning Valley.

We recently visited Brookfield Fire/EMS to be part of an HTC Fire Academy training class

We recently visited the Brookfield Fire & EMS department to take part in HTC Fire Academy's Salvage & Overhaul training Session.

Our marketing representative Meghan presented on After the Fire, what SERVPRO can do for our first responders as well as our customers in a fire or water damage emergency situation. Jim and Rodd talked about our contents processing center and how we can help restore textiles with our Esporta Wash System.

Our Fire Damage Restoration Process:

Step 1: Emergency Contact

The restoration process begins when you call us. Our highly-trained restoration technicians are  dedicated to responding immediately to any fire or water damage emergency. We’re on-call 24/7 to respond to any size disaster.

Step 2: Initial Inspection

We carefully inspect the structure and identify type of smoke (wet, dry, protein, fuel oil soot, etc.) and develop a plan of action

Step 3: Immediate Board-Up and Roof-Tarp Service

Our dedicated board-up crew is on-call 24/7. To maintain security and protect against further damage, we can board up missing windows and walls and tarp roofs without causing unnecessary damage to the structure.

Step 4: Contents Evaluation

We have the capacity and resources to inventory, pack out, clean and store contents from any size loss.

Step 5: Water Removal and Drying

The water removal process begins almost immediately and removes the majority of the water. We then use commercial grade dehumidifiers and air movers to remove the remaining water and complete the drying process.

Step 6: Removal of Smoke and Soot from All Surfaces

Step 7: Odor Removal, Cleaning and Sanitizing

Step 8: Restoration

Reconstruction may involve minor or major repairs. We’re here to make damage “Like it never even happened.”

Fourth of July Parade in Poland, OH

Our fleet in the parade lineup during the downpour

On Friday, June 30th Poland celebrated Independence day with the local community. There were many festivities to enjoy that went on for two days. It all started with the annual Strawberry Festival at the Poland Presbyterian Church. The church has held the festival since 1950 which brings money to the youth groups so they can do mission trips and other events.

At 7pm on Friday the Fireman’s Parade started down Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road where kids collected candy. Before the parade started, at approximately 6:50 pm it began to downpour and continued to rain for the whole parade. We walked the parade in the rain handing out candy to the kids who toughed out the downpour. Weather it’s rain or shine we are there for you! We had a great time and were happy to see the dedicated families out there celebrating Independence Day with us in the rain! See you next year!

To check out pictures and videos from the parade check us out on Facebook!

The children cheered with joy once they noticed the bubbles flowing throughout the parade. We hope to provide even more excitement next year at the parade.

River Rock at the Amp

6/13/2017 (Permalink)

This past weekend, SERVPRO of East Mahoning County provided a tent filled with food and refreshments at River Rock at the Amp. Friends and families were invited to join the tent during the concert. Different rock concerts perform on the weekends at the Warren Community Ampitheater; this weekend 7 bridges and Northern Whiskey performed on stage. The Amp is owned and maintained by the city of Warren.

Our friends and families enjoyed food and refreshments from Vernon’s Café and Sunrise Inn during the concert. While the bands were performing, our SERVPRO t-shirts were shot out to the crowd. We provided SERVPRO beach balls for the crowd to toss around for fun during the concert. We loved interacting with the crowd and we cannot wait to sponsor again next year!

Backpack Give Away

9/9/2016 (Permalink)

A couple of organizations were hosting a backpack give away in the city of Youngstown for students. One backpack give away was held at Oakhill Renaissance Place and was sponsored by Mahoning County Child Support Enforcement Agency. A member of county’s Department of Job and Family Services emphasized on how it was important to have a good start on the school year. Many of the students who attended expressed how they were excited for the school year to start. Another give away took place on Saturday at the Covelli Centre in downtown Youngstown where kids from elementary to high school students received school supplies such as binders, erasers, folders, along with other education necessities for their academic school year. People of all ages volunteered in preparing for the giveaways hoping to make a positive academic difference in their community.

Simple Acts of Kindness

8/31/2016 (Permalink)

Volunteers around the Warren area come together and clean up neglected areas in their community. Groups including Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership and Warren City Schools will also be pitching in. There are seven streets that the volunteers concentrated on in the southeast side of the city. They all joined together to help out the abandoned neighborhoods. They took part in mowing the lawns and picking up garbage. This is part of a cleaning initiative called, “Southeast Neighborhood Pride Week.” They achieved in helping out with over thirty houses by doing simple yard work such as trimming the bushes to create a positive appearance in their neighborhood. This act of kindness is not secluded and is open to anyone who is interested in joining to clean up the city. Simple Acts of kindness and helping out can enhance your community as a whole.

River Rock at The Amp

River Rock at the Amp in downtown Warren featuring 7 Bridges: The Ultimate EAGLES Experience & Chris Higbee: Our Fiddler on the Roof

SERVPRO of East Mahoning County participated at the River Rock at the Amp on July 16, 2016 featuring 7 Bridges: The Ultimate Eagles Experience & Chris Higbee: Our Fiddler on the Roof!

7 Bridges: The Ultimate EAGLES Experience is a stunningly accurate tribute to the music of the Eagles. Using no backing tracks or harmonizers, 7 Bridges faithfully re-creates the experience of an Eagles concert from the band’s most prolific period. Every show features one brilliant hit single after another with some mighty Don Henley and Joe Walsh surprises sprinkled into the mix. Each performance offers the perfect blend of songs to capture all levels of Eagles devotees.

The band combines incredible musicianship, vocal precision and a stage presence that has garnered them nationwide acclaim.

Country music vocalist and fiddle player Chris Higbee and his band will be one of the most crowd-pleasing performances you will see at the Amp! Higbee performs at full energy and doesn’t let up. Along with his talented band that includes a versatile guitar player, Higbee mixes country and rock ’n’ roll classics, along with a few original numbers. And the audience can’t help but to get up and dance, particularly to “Twist and Shout.” Another crowd pleaser is dialogue between Higbee’s fiddle and the guitar player: the guitar plays intros to famous classic rock songs and Higbee responds with country tunes on his fiddle.Playing fiddle, guitar and banjo, Higbee is breathtaking to watch. But keep a keen eye out, as he often disappears from stage and reappears playing from a bird’s eye view, delighting the audience.

Chris Higbee grew up a farm boy with a musical curiosity and a diligent mother and father. That curiosity quickly became a passion that forged his dreams. “Fiddles Rock,” the first track on Higbee’s new album, tells that story and was inspired by his late father. It was co-written with Higbee’s producer Tommy Harden and Don Rollins (“It’s Five O'clock Somewhere”.)

River Rock at the Amp classic rock concerts take the stage rain or shine at the Warren Community Amphitheatre. The Amp is located in picturesque downtown Warren, Ohio, along Millionaires’ Row and adjacent to historic Courthouse Park overlooking the Mahoning River. The Amp is owned and maintained by the city of Warren.

Salem, Ohio Pets Need Safety Plans for Disasters

7/22/2016 (Permalink)

Did you know an estimated 500,000 pets are affected every year by home fires? Take the time to make a plan for your furry friends. It's worth it.

Did you know an estimated 500,000 pets are affected every year by home fires? Take the time to make a plan for your furry friends. It's worth it.

In the event of a fire, often times our littlest family members are left homeless. While insurance companies care for the family's needs of food and shelter, there is little chance that the pet family members will be considered. There are several things you can do to ensure your pet's safety in the event of an emergency:

  1. Have ID on your pet's collar, as well as, having them microchipped
  2. Have a crate to transport your pet
  3. Secure a friend or family member in advance who will be willing and able to watch your pets in the event of an emergency
  4. Have current photos of your pet in case they do slip away in all the commotion
  5. Be sure to have a supply of food, fresh water and a leash for them
  6. Locate pet friendly hotels in your areas in case your friends/family aren't available.

Pets are part of the family too!
